(Grey Argus.)
Blackball, Boa, and Runanga held ft meetings to consider the proposals for settlement of the dispute as to wages •etc., putforward as .the outcome, of the recent conference at Wellington. On behalf of the Federation Executive four members. Messers O’Rourke, Winnard, Williams and McLnggan) attended each of the meetings and explained the proposals. Besides a wages increase there is, it is understood included provision for a tribunal for 'settling • disputes as they occur. Generally speaking the proposed settlement met with a favorable reception, but it as decided that in order to reach a definite decision, n ballot should be taken to obtain a general ver diet from all the miners. There seems every prospect of a ready and peaceful settlement of the dispute.
