AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARD'S PICTURES. “ THE WOMAN BENEATH.” On Thursday evening at the Princess Theatre a World film play “The Woman Beneath,” gives a caustic treatment of America’s high society. Ethel Clayton is the star performer in this story of married life that has strength and freshness. It is a brilliant, clever story of a young society girl who could not understand her husband. He made his millions by hard work, but did not believe in the wife who had men friends. At last he received a genuine lesson for suspicious husbands. The story is well told and the play a most interesting one one that is full of touches of light comedy, thus giving relief to the more dramatic scenes. The 6th chapter of “A Lass of the Lumberlands ” is a more than usual sensational one.
