A RAH UR A FAT STOCK SALE. At the above yards yesterday the yarding consisted of 47 head of cattle and 62 fat sheep, the supply not being equal to the demand, and owing to the short entry of beef, prices made a record for tlio yards. There was considerable competition from outside districts, and being unexpected, accounted for the high prices ruling. At one stage of the sale beef made up to 65s per hundred. The following sales were recorded:

Jeffjries( and Co. sold for Mr 11. Karnbacli, 4 bullocks at £2O 10s, 2 at £l6 7s fid, 1 at £lB 15s, 1 at £l6 12s fid, 3 at £IG 7s fid, 2 at £l6 12s 6d, 3 heifers at £l3 10s, 2 at £ll 2s fid. Sheep.—On account of Mr J. J. Jones, 42 wethers at 44s fid, 20 at 43s fid. Messrs G. W. Moss and Co. on account of Mr T. NcNeill, 2 bullocks at £25 2s fid, 4 at £23, 5 at £22 17s fid, 2 at £22 ss, 1 cow at £l9 ss, 2 at £l9 2s fid, 1 at £lB 10s, 2 at£l7 17s fid, 2 at £ls 7s fid.

Messrs M. Houston and Co. report as follows'There was only a moderate yarding at the above yards yesterday ‘with tbe result that competition very keen and beef firmed very considerably on recent sales, reaching m some cases over 60s per hundred. Our yarding consisted 0f.22 bead of fab cattle which were cleared at record prices for the season, the highest price being obtained for an extra prime builoeli, which was disposed of privately to Mr W. Zeigler for £3O 17s Gd. This bullock which was exceptionally prime, was reared on Mr. 11. Dicdnch s station at Koiterangi. During the sale we submitted a heifer which was generously donated by Mr Diednehs to the Grevniouth Copper Trail Fund, the precedes to go to number 3 candidate, Miss Baybutt, and after spirited bidding was knocked down to Mr. I bos. McNeil for £IG 17s Gd. We are asked to announce that at next Arahurn sale Mr. Diedriehs is selling a heifer on account of the Hokitika Copper Trail * The following sales wore effected: 1 bullock at £3O 17s Gd; 1 at L2o; l at £23 • 2 at £32 ss; 2 at £2l 2s Gd, at £2O 12s Gd; 3 at £l9 ss; 1 cow at £ls: 4 heifers at £l4 los; 4 at £l4; 1 at £l6 7s Gd, for Mr. H. .Diednehs; 1 COW at £lO 12s Gd for Mr. Morel, 6S prime sheep at 445.
