General Haig’s reports stat? wo dropped over seventeen tons of bombs in daytime on Seven with good effect. Fifteen hostile machines were brought down and seven driven down uncontrollable. Two British are missing. Bad weather hampered operations at nighttime. A ton of bombs were dropped. One of our night fliers is missing. ANOTHER AIR REPORT. (Received This Day at 12.30. a.m.) LONDON, Aug 9. The Air Ministry reports our aeroplanes successfully attacked explosive factories at Rombaeh wilit good results. All returned. FRENCH AIR REPORT. LONDON, Aug. 9. 184 enemy aeroplanes were brought down in July and 154 were seen to fall disabled behind the German lines. Our aeroplanes in July set fire to forty-nine enemy captive balloons. Our bombing planes dropped 194 tons of projectiles during the day and 536 during the night on the Marne bridges, and enemy troops south of Aisne, the stations in region of Laon, Hirsin, and Bethel.
RAIDS ON ENEMY TOWNS. STRONG ENEMY FORCES ENCOUNTERED. LONDON, August 8 Our recent air raids forced the enemy to detach a large number of fighting machines from the front as a protection for German towns.
