Mr Ward Price writes Escaped Italian prisoners say the Austrians have increased their cruelties in the occupied territory and treat tho people with tho utmost savery. They have erected gallows in the village fiquar<?s ) and hang peasants for the smallest offence. Robbery is general. The people are allowed one meal of vegetables tiailv and aro forced to work for twelve hours. Soldiers hurst into their homes with fixed bayonets and kidnap their girls. One leaped through a window and broke her leg. A soldier followed and outraged her. The escapee alleges that Austrian airmen bombed an Italian prisoners camp and killed a thousand.
