Our light units which crossed the Vcsle every where encountered resistance by the enemy FRENCH ON AVRE. • Received, this day at 8.45 a.ra. LONDON, August 6. Tho French have reached Avre north of. Montdidier. The Germans counterattacked fiercely north of Vcsle, but failed.
