It is officially stated that in 1917 thero were 747 Industrial Unions in tho Commonwealth with a membership of 564,187, compared with 302 unions with a membership of 247,019 in 1916.
THE SHIPPING PROBLEM
SYDNEY, July 26th
A deputation of primary producers interviewed Mr. Poynton regarding the dearth of shipping to shift the increasing stores. It is estimated that- tlu stocks of wheat total 115,000,000 bushels; wool. 1,250,000 bales; beef, 30,003 tons; mutton, 5,000 tons; rabbits, 17,000 tons; and butter, 1,000 tons. PRODUCE MARKET.
