! , ! The Board met at 7.-30. p.m., I'reL .sent—Messrs J. J. Breeze (Chairman), J. °Cameronj 11. H. Norman, G. Davidson, and T. \V. Bruce (Secretary). iAn apology was received for the absence of .Mr Morel. • The minutes of the previous mooting were read and confirmed and the outward correspondence apprved . Tho minute referring to the pay- ' meat of £l7/2/- to tho Canterbury Board, which was left undecided at last meeting, was after hearing the Chairman's explanation, finally agreed to and passed for payment. VOTES OF SYMPATHY. A vote of condolence was passed to Mr D. J. Evans in the loss of his

wife who hail boon a groat- help in raising funds in years past for the local hospital.—Supported by the Chairman and Messrs J. Cameron and H. Williams and carried in silence, all members standing .

A similar vote was also passed to Mr 11, Blank a member of the Board in .the- loss of his father. A vote of sympathy was also passed to Dr Teichelmann in his present illncsr, and wishing him a speedy recovery. . INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. Russell was read stating that Dr McPherson of Dunedin would take up I)r Tcichelmann’s work during his illness and should arrive in Hokitika this evening—Received. From Hon. Dinnie, Otira, supplying figures for maintenance for 1917.—Received .
