The Westland County Council is inviting tenders in this issue for the erection of a road, nnd also a'bridge at Ward road, near Lake Kaniori. Tenders close on August 13th. A reminder is given of the meeting of the Hoard of Management of the Technical Classes, to bo held at l!" Education office this evening at 7.3* o’clock, when a report will bs submitted by tho Director (Mr. L. F. dr Derry.)
Tho lion. J. Grimmond received the following telegram this morning from Soddon, Wellington, dated the 20th.—“ All saddened with tho sad news. Deeply regret cannot bo with your dear friend, Mr Evans. Xo way of getting there. Would you kindly represent the family.”
A. special feature for the Euchre Tournament on Wednesday next at St -Mary’s Club will ho the concert programme to bo given by visitors from Greymouth and Reefton assisted by local talent. The concert is part of the programme and one shilling will admit to the euchre tournament, social and dance.—Advt.
