WINTRY WEATHER

CHRISTCHURCH, July 10. The weather has taken another wintry turn. A particularly heavy gale blew last night and snow commenced to fall early in the morning. Since when snow and rain alternated, accompanied by a gale of wind. Some interruption has taken place in telegraph communication with the North Island, though the West Const lines are still available. ANOTHER. SNOW-STORM.

WELLINGTON, This Day. The nett profits of the Public Trust Office for the financial year, ended March 31st 1918, after retaining £20,000 were £48,602. It has therefore been directed by the Council that from the surplus profits, a sum equal to one tenth of tho total amount of interest received during that year shall be credited as a Ixmus to such estates, or accounts, provided that the amount of all said bonuses will not exceed £30,000. ■ j
