AUSTRIAN SCANDALS.
CORRESPONDENTS’ VIEWS

(Received. This Pav at 8.50. a.m.) HAGUE, July 10.
In reference to the veiled stories of scandals in the Austrian Court, it is reported in Vienna that Emperor Carl is accused of idleness and neglecting the State’s business, and the sharing of the fondness of all young officers for drinking, music and kindred amusements. The Empress is reproached for meddling in State affairs. It is alleged that she, or her mother, revealed the plan of the Austrian offensive to the Italians,
Loyal Austrians believe that German agents circulated the latter charge. According to a Vienna correspondent of the “Tyd,” the Empress frankly desires peace, but the accusation relating to the offensive and the monstrous rumour affecting her morals, is equally slanderous.
