SUCCESSFUL FRENCH RAIDS
LONDON, July 9
A French communique states that between Mont Didier and the Oise we carried out at 3.30. in the morning local operations west of Authouil,, on a front of two-and-half miles supported by tanks. We penetrated the enemy linen and carried a P os *' at the Farm des Loges. From the farm we advanced over a mile at certain points. The enemy counter-attacked at ])es Lodges Farm, hut were repulsed. We maintain all gains hitherto. We look 4/50 prisoners unwounded, including 14 officers.
South of the Aisiie the artillery duel is continued with increased activity.
At night time, charging in the farm region, where we reprogressed, taking several prisoners. *
There is reciprocal artilleryiug west of and north of Chateau Thierry, especially at Hill 204.
A FRENCH MESSAGE. LONDON, July 9. A French communique states that south of the Aisne, the enemy counterattacked against the positions we captured in the region of Chavigny Farm, but failed.
We took 530 prisoners in the morning’s attack west ef Autkeuil. and captured 330 machine- guns.
