In the House of Commons, Hon Maonaruara stated that German submarines on several occasions had exercised the right of searching hospital ships, in order to see they were complying with the Hague Convention. He emphasised that Britain had never broken the letter or spirit of the Convention, and he believed the same was true regarding our Allies.
