(Received This Day at 9.5<>. a.tn.) NEW YORK, July (i, The Illinois river excursion steamer Columbia had GG3 passengers and 30 of a crew when she capsized. It is estimated that 76 to 100 perished. In a dense fog the vessel struck a sunken log in the river and commenced to sink immediately, when she capsized. She was a three-decker. The excursionists were dancing and singing when the accident occurred, and a panic ensued, many women and children being pushed overboard, and many jumped. There was no time to use the life, belts or boats. Tim shrieks of the survivors were hoard on shore, and row boats were launched and went to the rescue. WOIIEN HONOURED.
