IRISH RECRUITING APPEAL. ISSUED ISY GOVERNMENT. LONDON, Juno 23. Tho following announcement is made bv the Press Bureau: The Government of Ireland lias issued a recruiting appeal to all Irishmen. The appeal is signed by the Irish Recruiting Council, consisting of Messrs A. M. Sullivan, Nationalist ALP., Maurice Docrell, H. McLaughlin, and Stephen Gwynn, Nationalist M.P. The appeal is as follows:—“At Ilis Excellency, the Viceroy’s (Lord French) request, we undertake to organise a Voluntary Irish Enlishment Campaign. The Campaign is to bo carried on by our own people according to their own method, and in their own way. We are conscious of difficulties. Nevertheless, wo believe that wo will receive support even from those who are suffering from present mis- , management, and/ from disappointed hopes; for all must realise that the first necessity is a peaceful settlement of Ireland’s trouble. To this end there must bo a defeat of the tradueer of our honour and our common Christianity. Two years ago our sons and onr brothers marched out, shoulder to shoulder.
