Japanese warships on the 3rd were escoring Allied transports, whereof one was torpedoed, but all aboard were saved. freighter sunk. • WASHINGTON, May 20. Tho American freighter, McCullough, was mined or torpedoed in European waters. One person aboard was drowned. SUBMARINE SUNK. (Reuter’s Telegram.) PARIS, 20th. French trawlers sunk a German submarine and prisonered the commander, and liberated the captain and crew ol a Spanish sailer, who were aboard the submarine. '■ SPANISH STEAMER SUNK. PARIS, May 20tli.
