FRENCH REPORT. (Received This Day at 11.? o. a.in.! LONDON, May 20. A French communique states there was only intermittent artllerying north and south of the Avre. AMERICA’S PART. (Reuter’s Telegrams.) 40 (Received this day at 1.30 p.ra.) v WASHINGTON. May 20. It is officially announced that the Americans hold more of the front lino trenches, than tlie Belgians who until recently ranked next to the British. R is also officially intimated that as a result of arrangements for forwarding troops this year, there is a possibility of more than 2 millions being seat- overseas Allowing for casualties, the American forces will number close on two million before the end of the year. Dio fact that American troops are brigaded ■with the British enables British supplies being used, thus affording a great increase of shipping room for the transport of troops,
