THURSDAY MAY 16th. (Before T. Hutchison, Esq., S.AI.) BOROUGH BYE LAWS. Borough Inesector (Air Park) v. W. Reid, a charge of riding a bicycle in Rc-voll Street, after sundown without- a light. Convicted and lined 2/6. Same v. F. Turley,' a charge of riding a bicycle in Revel! Street after,sundown without a light. Defendant pleaded not guilty. Defendant stated that he rode the bicycle from the clock tower to Perry’s store. He got off and talked into Revell street, not riding the cycle at all after, till lie got to the hotel. Mr Park asked leave to amend the charge to one of riding in Weld street,. His Worship declined to allow this course ,but offered to allow the ease to he adjourned for corroborative evidence. Mr Park said lie did not desire this, as he doubted Ins ability to obtain eorro horativo evidence.
Th© Magistrate stated that as there was a conflict of evidence he would give the defendant the benefit of the doubt and dismiss the information. DEBT CASES. It. and AY. Ross (Air Park), v. S. P. Briggs, claim £7, 16s. 6d. Judgment by default for plaintiffs with costs 23s (id. 31. Cashman (Air Park) v., Patrick Burkin, judgment summons. Ordered to nay £lO within a week in default two months in Greymouth gaol. ragavort. Charles S. Dalgliesli, ) Inspector of Noxious AVecds v. W. F. and R. J. 8. Diedrich! a charge, of failing to clear ragwort, a noxious weed from off their land, Koiterangi. R; J. S. Deidrieh was convicted and fined 10s. Same v. Alary Graham, a similan chailge. Explanation accepted and charge dismissed.
