According to a report of the general Federation, of Women’s Clubs at the conference at Chicago, there is approximately one million American women now making munitions and ' working in other positions created by the war.
GERMAN THREAT.
(Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, May G. A new German regulation withdraws the protection of- neutrals from anj ship belonging to any country which had concluded an agreement with the • enemy respecting the cession of tonnage or if the greater part of tho merchantmen of tho country is concerned, if sailing for enemy ports. Henceforth such vessels will be treated as enemy ships.
