The Hague, April 26 The Dutch Foreign Minister lias arrived from Berlin.

A GERMAN THREAT

Amsterdam, April 27

Captain von Salzmann, the German''critic, writing in the “Yossische Zeitnng,” addresses k a remarkable threat to Holland. The ground of his argument is that the present situation clearly indicates that neutrals are greatly menaced by the British. He states that Holland can still keep out of the war, but she must realise that there s an end to German patience, and when her existence is at stake, there cannot be hesitation. Let Holland reflect thereon during these critical hours. G'ermany’s policy cannot deviate. There is no other way out.

VIEWS OF HENRY VAN DVKE

Washington, April 27

Henry Van Dyke, former American Minister to Holland, interviewed, states that Holland has recognised for fifty years that Germany wanted to control the mouths of the Rhine, but il Germany attempts this or encroaches on the Dutch Sovereign it}'. Holland will fight regardless of cost and sacrifices.

The Daily Telegraph’s correspondent at Rotterdam, says “Germania,” the official organ of the Centre Party, declares if the war lasts long enough a point must be reached when Holland and Switzerland will he forced to completely join one or other groups of belligerents. Other German papers state that Holland is in danger of becoming a British bridgehead, towards Germany, like Belgium. The correspondent adds that The Dutch people sirow the utmost anxiety, owing to Germany’s bullying attitude.
