It is notified again in General Orders that “drinking, by commissioned officers in hotel bars, being detrimental to discipline, is strictly forbidden,” “ That compulsory retirement after 40 years’ service, or after the age of 65 years, to all officers drawing over £370 per annum, be recognised and enforced,” was a resolution passed by the Wairarapa branch of the Post . and Telegraph Association on Friday.

All he has to do is to apply to the High Commissioner through his military headquarters, for a remittance. The High Commissioner then cables to tho Post Office Savings Bank in New Zealand, and. the remittance, is immediately despatched by cable. If a soldier should cable personally to the Department a remittance cannot be forwarded because of the question of identification.
