Red Cross cabled from London off April 6th to the President of the New Zealand branch at Christchurch.— “Honey sent camp hospitals most useful. Send more.” _ , , The President of the Canterbury, Nelson and West Coast centre has written to the local centre as follows: In response to the above cable, we have arranged to hold a “Honey-Day in Christchurch, on Wednesday, May Ist. when all contributions —large or small —will be thankfully received by the members of the Red Cross • Comforts Depot at a stall in Cathedral Square. The necessity for , sending honey to our N.Z. Headquarters is imperative and cannot be delayed; It is well known that honey is most valuable as a food and for medicinal purposes, and we hope that this urgent appeal for our sick and wounded will not he in vain, especially as. in New Zealand we have no lack of sugar, jam, or indeed, any food. Will you kindly make known to mem bers, workers and friends of your Branch tlie arrangements for “HoneyDay.” Large quantities are required and success must crown our united efforts.

In response to the above appeal don-, ations of honey or kind will be received for the purpose in view, and they may he left at tho County Chambers.
