' THE WATAROA SALES. (By Telegraph Special to Guardian.) MATAINUI, This Day. ' The annual sales were held yesterday in glorious weather. Thre was a large attendance, and a record yarding of cattle, and sheep. Buye>tJrom all parts of Westland were present, and also from Canterbury. Prices for cattle showed a drop of fully t hirty shillings per head on the pre vious sale, ' though sellers appeared satisfied. The prices realised for drafts of cattle from Haast and Okuru districts topped the market, being splendid for forward beasts. Local buyets operated freely. Owing to the number of entries, the sale was not concluded last night, and it is starting again this morning. Messrs Dalgety and Co. and M. Houston and Cq., have still to dispose of their entries.
