POLLARD’S PICTURES, “THE IRON CLAW,” THURSDAY. The big Pathe sensational serial “ The Iron Claw ” will be commenced to-morrow (Thursday) evening by Pollard’s Pictures in the Princess Theatre. The first chapter “ The Vengeance of Legal’,” will be screened in conjunction with the World Mims picturisation of Frank I R. Acl am w’ell known novel “ Who is Sylvip, shown under the title of “ The Page Mystery.” This splendid drama presents three well known stars in Carlyle Blackwell, June Elvidge and Arthur Ashley. Three people confess to the murder of the worthless Colonel Page, but the confession of Mrs Le Moyle clears up the>mystery. The final scene in this big work is a very powerful one. “ The Iron Claw ’ first chapter opens on a beautiful island olf the coast of Caroline, where is situated Enoch Golden’s home. In his employ is Dr .Tules Legar, whose attentions to Mrs Golden cause his employer much unrest. Not long after, in a jealous rage, Golden accuses his wife of betraying his confidence and sends her away. At his orders, Legar’s face is horribly mutilated anti his hand crushed off in a vise. In place of the hand, Legar provides himself with an iron claw, the significance of which Golden understands. Swearing vengeance on the house of Golden, Legar returns with a companion and opens the large sluice-gates which hold back the waters of the bay. The inrushing waters soon inundate the island and the scheming Legar rescues and makes away with Margery, Golden’s daughter. Illtreated and abused, the child is raised by the vengeful Legar. He sends her to his friend Dalheim, a despicable character of the underworld. After Margery’s departure, Legar receives a warning from the mystic and desperate enemy of wrongdoers—known to. the underworld As the Laughing- Mask. Dalheim, about to drug Margery, is set upon by the Laughing Mask. The mysterious lighter of w rongs, with Margery under his protection, easily evades the puisnil of Dalheim and his clique. He refuses to divulge hisjgidentity to Margery. ■'•kßCj "
