, GOVERNMENT’S POLICY. In the course of a speech at the I Town Hall this week, Mr Massey indicated what would be a new policy of the Government for the encouragement of wheat-growing in this country. The growers have been asking for an increase in the price of wheat next year to 6s. a bushed. The proposal suggested by Mr Massey was that instead of fixing a price the import duty on wheat must be. raised to the level of the Commonwealth tax.
