V SYDNEY, March Ist, The Royal-Commission which is enquiring into the card system in the railway shops Pound it necessary to subpoena representatives ol the Union who declined to attend voluntarily. Their evidence showed the reason for striking was the fear that the card system meant- the introduction of the speeding-up and other evil effects. One witness said that another ohjeeion was the introduction of the most-up-to-date system' in the most out-of-date workshops.
