WEST COAST SHEEP SELL WELL. (By Telegraph.—Special to Cuardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding the above sales on Wednesday. Fat Cattle,—There was a smaller yarding than last week, mostly cows and heifers, [’rices showed no change. Freezing buyers were operating, but got only cows. Best steers brought £l7 to £l9; medium and unfinished, £l4. 10s to £ls 15; cows and heifers £ll. to £ls. siore cattle, —The yarding wa's medium, except for a line of three year-old steers which made from £ll 15s to £l3 10s. Enquiry was easier all round, blit the hulk of the entry was sold at prices a shade below the previous markets. Small lots of yearlings and 18-months £5 15s to £7 10s; dry cows, £7 to £9 10s; 2-year old steers £9 5s to £lO.
Fat sheep.—There was a medium, yarding of indifferent quality and prices were about the same parity as last week. Best wethers_ to 395; prime 33s to 365; lighter and inferior 29s to 325; ewes to 36s Gd; medium,' 29s to 3’>s 6d; light and inferior, 23s (id to 28s. A few West Coast fat ewes sold at 345. " Store sheep.—There was another very large yarding, . mostly ewes and lambs. All classes of sheep sold wellPerhaps aged ewes backward condition were easier, hut all good conditioned young ewes were firm at late infos. Best rape lambs were keen. 2 tooth owes to 38s 9d. Four tooth to 325; sound mouths 28s 6(1 to 325; best lambs to 23s f)d; medium 18s to 21s. Wethers were about the same as last week. A lew- West Coast sheep sold well, ewes 32s 5d wethers 29s lid lambs 23s 3d. '
