SWIMMING SPORTS.
PACKET DAY BENEFIT
There was a very fair attendance at the Municipal Baths yesterday afternoon, when the Swimming sports in aid of the Packet Day Fund took place and a very enjoyable .programme of events were run off, the events being well contested. The management are to he complimented on the success of the gathering. The following were the results:
Beginners Race, (Boys):—H. Andrewes 1; A. Hickson 2. Beginners Race (Girls) —-B. Hickson 1 ; J. Stevenson 2.
Girls Race (open)—,7. Boss 1 ; A Bang 2 secs. 2; Boys under 14 25 yards—F,. Park' 4 secs 1 Tf. Dawn scr. 2. j Boys under 12—AT. Houston 1 sec.( 1; TC. Aitken lsee 2. Relay Race 100 yards—lf. Dawn’s team 1; G. Ait ken’s team 2; < ' 25 yards open, under 17 years:— Tliorpi lsec', H. Osmers 2 secs, A dead heat. All Round diving:—HV Lawn Ist. 23 points; G. Aitken 2nd. 191 points; K. Park 3rd. 181 points.
Long Diving : —H. Lawn and H. Batkind A dead heat.
Gold Medal (presented by Air 4. Brodklehurst) for highest .aggregate points:—TT. Dawn 20pts. Ist, E. Park llpts 2. The winner, a lad of 13 years, started from scratch in six events, winn-
ing, three being second twice and third once, a remarkably good performance.
