, WELLINGTON, Fob. 26th. 'The Defence Department has issued the following:— Canterbury Military District — The following is reported to have died of sickness: — Private C. A. McCracken, (Greymouth.) 1 jPrivate A. McCracken, of the Thirty Second Reinforcements, the eldest son. of Mr and -Mrs Geo. McCracken, of Alexander Street’ Groymouth, died: from measles at the Military Hospital. Tidsworth oh the 23rd inst. The -deceased soldier, who was a native of" Greymouth, was educated a t theIleeftoii District High School, and for some time kept a grocery store in that, district, relinquishing business after the war broke out. Tie was a very popular young man of good physique, and turned the scale at 14 stone. His sorrowing parents, six sisters, and brother, will have the sincere sympathy of n large circle of friends in their un-i timelv bereavement.
