DARING BANK ROBBERY
SYDNEY, Feb. 12th
A daring daylight bank robbery has occurred. A customer entered the English and Scottish Bank’s branch in Pitt Street, and deposited over £3OO on the counter. A man standing alongside dashed a bag of flour in the faces of the customer aud the teller, and thou grabber! £IOO in notes and escaped.

MELBOURNE, Feb 12
Desert Gold has been scratched for the Newmarket Handicap and Australian Cup. She will run in the EsSendon Stakes. A feature of the Flemington gallops was Desert Gold’s six furlongs on the grass in 1.17 j, part of the journey being against a strong wind. The first half mile took 51 Fsecs ; five furlongs 1.41.
