Had seven brothers, two" serving. A statement was handed in from the mother, who was unable to attend owing to illness. —Adjourned
sine die. William Lyes, .Koiterangi, classed 01. Appellant deposed he was a farmer, aged 35, single, Has four brothers all of military age, all single. Quo was serving, three were turned down. Witness had a fane of nearly 500 acres leasehold, details being given, of the working of the farm and those of his father. —To go in the March Cl draff. George Nesbitt, Hokitika, classed A. Appellant stated ho was a sawmill yardsman, 37 years of age, married, no children; had two brothers, both farmers, and four step-brothers, three serving. Had boon t iH-ned down twice.. Adjourned for financial assistance to ito arranged. Robert T. A. Orr. Hokitika, classed A. Appeals nt stated ho was married, bad no children, aged 32 years, a farmer, had four brothers, one at the Front, and three in Second D'vision; was leasing 150 acres at Knnieri Lake. Anneal dismissed; allowed till April draft. 1 Michael Devaney. Hokitika. Cl (Mr Murdoch). Adjourned from last, sitting.—Adjourned to May sitting, when another son comes of age. Thomas Foster, Ross. A ; John P. TTanshury, Ross. (M‘‘ Murdoch). These appeals had been adjourned from previous sittings to see if some arrangement could not he come to between tho appellants, who were members of rival coach services to South Westland. Tho chairman stated these people were standing off from agreeing to a mutual settlement, owing to pure stupidity. Cap*. Pilkington thought the host solution would he to send both of tho men to camp.
Both appellapl s gave further evidence.
The chairman, in giving the decision, of the Board, said Foster had evidently not made any effort (o come to ail amicable agreement. Hanshury had made some attempt to come to an arrangement-. Foster’s appeal will he dismissed, and Hanshury’s appeal would be adjourned till April. He would have to make a definite effort to get some one to carry on. Tlie Board dnl not know what the position will he in a few months. They could not allow First Division men to remain while the Second Division were being called un. Hanshnry’s appeal would again he dealt with in April.
James C. Hcnde. Hende’s Ferry, Cl. (Mr Wells), application for a rehearing. Tlie chairman said appellant had written to the Premier twp days after the anneal was dismissed, which was sent on to the Board, and the application for a re-hearing had been set down. Nothing new had been broughtforward why a re-hearing , should he granted. Mr Wells asked for an adjournment for a month. The chairman said there was no new grounds, exeent that the l decision of Board ought to ho in his favour. He bad three brothers in the vicinity. If they had to waif till they found a man that would not suffer any loss they would get no men. He was a Cl ease There was no need to sacrifice' his property. Re-hearing refused. If he passes ns fit in the C.l. Camp he can then make an application for time t° arrange his affairs. Michael McGrath. Konara. C.l. Appellant stated he was a farmer and contractor. single, aged 31. Have four brothers one in North Island, one on Inavo. one going next- month and one 0.2. Have 110 acres leasehold: have contract to build farm buildings at HnTi Ran. Had not enlisted, but three others bad.

Edward Haddock (Hcrepo) and Timothy E. Hnnshury (Ross), both C.2, wore adjourned sine die. This concluded the sitting.
