WAR PENSIONS.

In a statement dealing with war pensions dealt with Lo the end of December says: The total claims from the inception of the scheme to December 31 si last were 14,481, whereof II permanent aud semi-permanent pensions were granted to soldiers, 7,276 were temporary, 632 declined, 11 adjourned, 92 on hand, and 179 camp eases, making a total of 9,301 soldiers.
Of the 5,180 dependents, 3,050 got pensions, 762 temporary pensions, 439 were declined, 17 adjourned, 278 were on and, and 19 camp cases. 'lbo gross annual value of all war pensions was £757,114, of which £414,919 represents an increase since March 31st last.
Deducting death cancellations, the net result to-day is 10,*150 pensioners, representing an annual liability of Util4 900 or a' little over £50,000 monthly.
