SUSPICIOUS Cl not ’MSTANOHS. CHRISTCHURCH December 26. 'fhe activities of a resident of one of the seaside resorts near Christchurch in connection with the building of a motor yacht recently aroused some suspicion in the minds of other residents, especially in view of the facts that the yacht-builder was a German, that shipbuilding was not his ordinary avocaton and that the yacht was to be fitted with a fairly high-powered engine. Whatever the objects were for which the yacht was being built, the authorities deemed it expedient to stop the,work of construction and to intern the yacht builder on Somes island where lie was conveyed towards the end of last week.
