THE SEASON'S GREETINGS
FROM KING AND QUEEN. WELLINGTON December 25. The following message has been received by Major-General Sir A. W. Robin from the Governor-General (the Earl of Liverpool): His Majesty the King desires that the following messages be published in the orders for Christmas Day: I send to all ranks of the Navy and Army iny good hearty wishes for Christmas and the New Year. I ' realise your hardships, patiently and cheerfully borne, and rejoice in the success you have won so nobly. The nation will stand faithful to its pledges, resolute to fulfil them. May God bless your efforts and give us victory.

The Governor-General has received the following telegram from FieldMarshal Sir Douglas Haig.: All ranks under my command join with me in sending heartiest good wishes to the Dominion of New Zealand for Christinas and the coming year
His Excellency replied on behalf of this Dominion.
f desire heartily to reciprocate vour good wishes, and at the same time, to assure you that not only our troops but those of the whole Empire are ever present in the thoughts of the people of New Zealand.
