The work of getting ready the Ross Lime Company’s works is progressing satisfactorily. The tunnel has boon completed and the excavation necessary for the furnace is in hand, the tramway to the face also having been completed. The work or making the railway line between Ross and the Mikonui has been proceeding, satisfactorily, the formation being nearly completed to the Mikonui while the erection of the bridge over the river is also well under way, the pile driving proceeding very satisfactorily.
The Children’s Garden Party conducted by Miss Masio Reynolds on Saturday afternoon, in spftc of the rough weather, was quite a success. It was organised for the "i .M.C., Trench Comforts Fund, and realised £5 Is. Miss Reynolds desires to thank all those who contributed gifts and assisted to make tho little gathering so successful.
