TERRITORIAL CAMPS.
j ’HIE ARRANGEMENTS MADE, i i It hn s been provisionally arranged to hold the annual Territorial camps in the Canterbury military district during the period from March 19th. to May. > 27th. Tho principal camp will be at Soekburn and will remain in existence for a little over five weeks, from March 19th. till April 30th. Smaller camps .will be held on the West Coast and in . Nelson and Marlborough. There will be five periods consisting of one week each at the Soekburn ; camp, and a Territorial has the choice , of selecting any one for his training under canvas. The periods are as follows:—First, March 19-25; second March 27-A.pril 3; third, April 6-12; j . fourth, April 16-22; fifth, April 24-30. i ft has been ascertained that probably m i 1400 members of the Territorial Force 7 | in the Canterbury district, approxima- | tely 30 per cent of the whole, will apply for exemption from attendance. T!iis total would not be nearly so great if it were not for the exemption of the West Coast miners, whom it is 8 considered necessary to keep in the i I mines to maintain the production of I coal . i

Field ; Ambulance 1 officer, 10 men; No 3 Field Artillery, 2 officers and 65 men ; Divi- ! sional Signal Co., 3 officers, 20 men. • Second Period.—2nd. (South Canterbury) Regiment, 7 officcds 300 men ; Bth ; (South Canterbury Mounted Rifles, 6 j officers-150 men ; Mounted Signal Troop 1 1 officer, 8 men; No 3 Field Ambulance j 10 men: No ICoy Field Engineers, 4 j officers 70 men . ' Third period.—lst. Mounted Rifles, . (C.Y.C), 11 officers, 220 men; Ist, j (Canterbury Regiment, 00 men: Coast Defence Infantry, 27 men; Army Service Corps 1 officer, 8 men ; No 3 Field Ambulance 8 men ; 13th. (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment, 12 officers 598 men. Fourth period.—2nd. (South Canterbury Regiment, 2 officers, 130 men; Bth (South Canterbury) Mounted Rifles, 2 officers 43 men; officers unattached list j (b) 8; Army Service Corps, 8 men; j No 3 Field Ambulance, 8 men ; No 3 J Field Ambulance, 8 men ; 13tli (North j Canterbury and Westland), Regiment 4 officers 100 men E Battery, 6 men; Divisional Signal Co.. 3 men. Fifth period.—lst. Mounted Rifles (C.Y.C.), 20 men; Army Service Corps. 8 men; No 3 Field Ambulance, 8. men. ‘ Included in the 13tli (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment are two companies from tile West Coast. At the Westport Trotting Club’s grounds there will go into camp from May Ist, till May 7th., 3 officers and 20 men of No BOov, iX.Z. Garrison Artillery, and from May 10th till May 16th. fi officers and 20 men from J Coy Coast Defence Infantry and officers on unattached list (b).
