[PIIH I’UESfI ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT.} A CYCLING ACCIDENT. WELLINGTON, This Day. Frank Easton met with a serious accident when cycling down Ngahauranga road yesterday evening. The chain came off and tlio machine ran into a hank. Easton was badly injured about the head. He was picked up hv a motor lorry which also ran into a hank through engine trouble, though no one else was hurt. Easton was finally taken to tlio hospital where he is still unconscious’. NO NEWS. AUCKLAND, Dec. 17. At midnight there was no news of the recapture of the eleven Germans who escaped from Motuihi Island on Thursday night. A SUSPICIOUS FIRE. AUCKLAND, This) Day. The Fire Brigade was called at one o’clock this morning and found a heap of straw in an empty hatch, alight. The flames were speedily extinguished and no damage done to the vessel.
