AUSTRIAN POLITICS. Received, this day at 8.45 a.m.) BERNE, Dec. 9th. The Austrian Parliament passed the Ausgleich Bill by 180 votes to 165. Stranstry, the Czechs leader, protested against the idealism .of barbarism, enabling Austrians and Germans Magyars to overrule other races. The Czechs wanted no dealings with Hungary only. AUSTRIAN (STATEMENT. (Received This Day at 11.25. a.m.) AMSTERDAM December 9. Count Czernin in a speech to the Hungarian delegation emphasised a complete Austro-German agreement in their war aims. There was no obstacle to peace, but Alsace-Lorraine AustroHungary was fighting in Germany’s defence, as Germany was fighting for Austro-Hungarians. He had no difference between Sporbourg and Trieste. He added that it was not impossible that another const,illation will enter the general European war situation and great events would follow on other fronts. Then I should applaud if we fought on other fronts also, together with our Allies.
Referring to Italy 'Count Czernin said her best hope was a status quo- ante helium.
