Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding the above sales on Wednesday.

Fat Cattle —There was a larger market than lately, Prices, in face of good In mb supplies, were easier, except for prime quality. We consider all sorts, except best quality stcer s and heifers, 20/- to 30/- per head easier, but prices are still above freezing rates.

Store Cattle —Another large entry. Consider the market all round easier, Although a few good bullocks made £l7 2s Gd, good forward steers £l-5 10s to £l4/12/6; two and three year olds, £!) 10/- to £ll/15/-; yearlings 18 months, £6/10/- to £B/15/-; yearlings heifers £5 5/- to £7/10/-. Although the market was easier there was still a good demand for quality .

Fat> Sheep—There was a larger yarding than was required for butchers. Practically all were shorn sheep.—Primest wethers, to 30/G ;prime 33/6 to 35/liglvter, 29/- to 32/6. Store wethers wore dearer in comparison. We consider the market all round except for best sheep, 1/- to 1/6 easier than Inst week for ewes in comparison.

Store sheep—There was a small entry and good demand for all classes* of dry sheep. Best wethers shorn, 32/bosb 2 tootli wethers 25/-, best 2 tooth ewe.;, 27/- to 30/- .
