As fast as one enemy divi si on i s exhausted another is brought up. The Malians are outnumbered badly and are short of guns. Their own shells from lost guns are raining thick on the torn lines. SITUATION 'IMPROVING. ROME November 25. The situation is improving. NEARING A CLIMAX. FAVORING THE ITALIANS. [LONDON TIMES SERVICE—COPYRIGHT] LONDON, Nov. 25th. Mr. Ward Price, writing on the 24th says: The invasion is reaching a climax towards Tomba; but seems in favour of the Italians. Terrible fighting is certain within the next two days.' After the severest fighting the Austrians gained a position in the knife-like eastern Tomba Ridge, where they cling precariously. Botji sides are hurrying reinforcements for a decisive trial of strength.

Mr. Jeffries, writing on the 23rd, says: Attacks at Tomba and Moneravera are unprecedently violent. The Brandenburghers, specially trained mountain fighting men, assaulted incessantly for twenty-four hours. The Italians are still holding on at Calabria, and have lost heavily. The enemy’s casualties aTe tremendous. THE CRUCIAL POINT. ANGLO-FRENCH TROOPS NOT v YET FIGHTING. fAUSTRALIAN & N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION] LONDON, Nov. 25. Mr Ward Price says the crucial point in the fighting in Italy, is in a twelvemile gap between the Brenta andPiave rivers, with fierce attacks and counterattacks about Monte Tomba. The Germans cannot descend to the plain until they capture Monte Tomba and Monte Grappa. The Anglo-French troops have not yet participated 'in the battle. Mr. Price says he met several motor cars containing British officers reconnoitring the battle ground.
IMPROVING ITALIANS. (Received Tin's Dav at 10.15, a.m ) NEW YORK, vNov. 26. The “New York Sun” publishes a message from Rome, which says the rapid recovery of the Italians has not necessitated the use of the AngloFrench troops, but the latter will participate in any decisive battle.
