HOKITIKA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
FRIDAY NOV. 16th
The Council met at 7.45 p.m. Present:—Messrs G. A. Perry (Mayor) Preston, H. Thompson, R. King, J. King, Stapleton and Wood. Apologies were made for the absence of Messrs Blank, Parkhill and Coulson. The minute s of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and outward correspondence approved, j INWARD CORRESPONDENCE From Westland Chamber of Commerce thanking Council for contribution of £lO per annum towards Jackson motor mail service.—Received. From Hon. W. F. Massey, Welling- j ton staing it was not proposed to make j any change in tho location of the prin- i cipal polling place for Westland.—Received. From H. M. Coulson acknowledging letter oxpressing sympathy in his illness.—Received. Leave of absence was
granted for two months. ' From Thomas Coyle, offering IBs for lease of reserve 556, Da vie Street.— Received and accepted. From A. 11. Lawn on behalf of the Swimming Club asking that question of lease of swimming baths for season be held over till next meeting to enable the Club to submit proposals.—Received and request granted. REPORTS From Treasurer .reporting receipts £lO6/13/8, payments £251/1/10. Debit bank balance £266/11/3. —Received. Aodountp amounting to £lB/11/7 were passed for payment. The Council then adjourned.
