For Fredk. Frampton, Ashburton — Yearling bull, Rosedale White Prince, by Pannett’s Prince, dam Queen of Rosedale 3rd—lnchbonnie Estate, AA restland 50 guineas. The South AVestland stock went to Ross by rail last evening.
CLEARING SALE AT AVAITAOA. At AVaitalia on Monday, Messrs Jeffries and Co. hold a clearing sale of M; Hugh Linkla tor's prjnperty and stock. There was a big attendance of buyers and competition was keen for the dairy stock and implements. The property of 627 acres, live and dead stock were first submitted for a two years’ lease. Bidding opened at £SOO. and at* .£7OO was passed, not reaching vendor’s idea ofvalue. The live and dead stock were separately sold and realised as follows: Cows in full profit £l2, £ll 10s, £9 12s Od and £9; empty forward cows £ll los: heifers in profit £9 12s 6d, £9, £8 iOs and £8 7s 6d ; Holstein bull £l3 ; halves at 16s; light gelding £9 ; harness mate £10; Albion mower £18; cultivator £2; hay fodder £9, and a quantity of farm amt dairying implements at ruling prices. The lease of the land is now being negotiated for privately.
KOKATATTT SALE. At tbo above yards yesterday, Messrs Jeffries and Co. held a supplementary spring sale of surplus stock. There was a yarding of 125 head of cattle, pen of fat sheep and several horses. Competition was keen for good sorts and the following prices were recorded: —Lino of two to two and a half steers, roans and reds, £9; line of ditto (mixed colours) £8 12s 6d; two-year steers £8; 18 months to yearling steers £7 2s 6d, £6 los, £5 10s, and h line of shorthorn velar lings at £5; forward cows at £8 10s, £/ 7s fid, £< 10s and £6 15s; fat heifers (small) £7 7s 6d; , yearling heifers at £4 15s; pen ol fat hoggets, shorn, at 31s. There was a large entry of horses, hut as usual the demand was not brisk for same. |
