THE GREY SEAT.
Air. P. C. Webb speaking at a public meeting of his supporters last night said that so far as his future political career was concerned, he left himself i n the hands of the Labour Party. He would far rather they selected some'one else to represent them during his absence ; hut the party would decide what he ahould do. This practically means that Afr. Webb will be the selected candidate for the seat; but who) if any, his opponent will be is not yet definitely known.

In compliance with a request by the Labour Parties, Air P. C. Webb has, definitely announced his candidature for the Grey seat . Speaking at the Opera House last night, he said he stood ns an avowed enemy of thc.Govornment, whom he invited to come to the electorate and help to vote him out. He hoped the election would not be conducted on a “win tbc war” cry. but- be a test of approval or otherwise, of the National Government’s policy on the cost of living and war measures particularly.
