■ 'l’lie insurances on the Canterbury j Hall total £12,000, including. £I,OOO on I the company’s furniture. The offices interested are British Mercantile £4OOO, Liverpool, London and Globe, £3OOO, British, Dominion, Victoria, Imperial, Now Zealand and Union £IOOO ■each. Probably Fullers is separately insured, but it is, not available. The company was also insured fully for rent in the National’ Office. PROPOSAL TO PURCHASE. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov 12 The' question of the purchase of the Canterbury Hall site by the city has already been: revised. Some citizens expressed themselves as favourable to the idea: of securing it as a town liall | site. The matter was mentioned to the Mayor, who expressed the opinion that it. was vet premature to discuss the proposal. The site was not under offer, and if was not known yet what the Fuller Proprietary intended to do.
