Among the provisions of the Expeditionary Forces Act Amendment Bill which was dropped by the Government last session owing to the failure of the House and Legislative Council to agree regarding the exemption of teachers was a clause providing that exemption should he granted in the ease of any

reservist who was the last remaining son of his parents of military ago, if three of his brothers had served or were serving in the present war. The loss of the Bill entailed the loss of this provision which ha been approved by both branches of the Legislature, hut t.lie Military Service Boards have been recommended by the Government to take into consideration the will of Parliament when dealing with eases which would have come within the scope of the clause-
