ARGYLE CASE TO-NIGHT
To-night- at the Princess Theatre Pollard’s Pictures will screen the Selznick Warwick Corporation’s great detective drama, “ The Argyle Case,” with the favorite actor, Robert Warwick, in the leading role of Asche Hayton, private detective. “The Argyle Case” is not one of the ancient murder yarns, with detectives with false whiskers, but a modern scientific criminal investigation carried on with the aid of very wonder-working modern marvel for the detection of crime. Hammerstein, and Gazelle Marche head a cast that is composed of leading artists and the production is under the direction of R. W. Inc'e. The story of the “ Argyle Case” is that of the mysterions murder of John Argyle, a multi-millionaire in the library of his home. Circumstances point promptly towards Argyle’s adopted daughter, Mary, who is the beneficiary under his will, Argyle having quarrelled bitterly with his son, Bruce, Just as tilings begin to look black for Mary, Asche Kayton. a great private detective, is called in by Bruce and takes hold of the investigation. His methods are both scientific and swift, and the trail leads to a den of counterfeiters, where, by the nse of the dictograph and other modern devices, the real murderer is run to his lair. From the moment Avhen lvayton, the role played by Mr Warwick, takes hold of the mystery, the story intensifies in interest, working up to its surprising climax in the den of counterfeiters.

A. magnificent bill will be presented at the Opera "House on Tuesday evening, wlien the principal attraction will be a Mutual Masterpiece in five big acts, entitled “The Manager of tr.e iv and A.,” which features beautiful Helen Holmes in a picturisation of Vaughan Tester's well-known novel. The story is the love romance of a railroad man who has risenfrom the ranks, and gets his reward after many dark and trouble-filled days. It is crowded with sensational incidents of exciting and thrilling scones. You can soo the crash and fierce turmoil of a strike, and the journey through a roaring forest-fire, where the wrecking of a train through a falling tree make one of the most lovable love spangles in the course of daring adventure. The Signal Company’s adventurous stars were never seen to better advantage, combined with an all-star caste, while the scenery J and views are taken in the most picturesque surroundings imaginable. Something of special' interest will he a Gazette showing the first landing of the 'American Army in Franco, while the full orchestra will play/the incidental music.
