FOOTBALL.
In the final match played on Saturday for the Wright-Stevenson cup, the Hokitika District High School was successful, winning by 58 points to nil. Greymouth were four men short. but played a good game. From the start Kirwan, for Hokitika, made a straight run home. For a' while Greymouth stood- off the superior numbers, TnvV when half time came Hokitika’s score was 27. Greymouth nil. After the spell Greymouth began to •‘ire. Hokitika getting home mnnv times. Adatnson had many kicks at the goal and was successful. Ferguson (21 Boyd (2), Kirwan (6), Thorpe (1), Adamson (4), and Foster (1), scored tries. Ferguson and Boyd made very good runs.
This season four matches, two senior, nnd two junior, have been played, Hokitika having an advantage of 35 points scored in the grand totals. The local club therefore holds the cup for the second venr in succession.
