HOAV GAZA AVAS TAKEN. LONDON November 9. i .Mr. Atassey telegraphs:—The attack jon Gaza was launched at mid-night or two sides, accompanied by intense artillery ing. The British troops routed the enemy on Alimuntar Hill, and entered the town at daybreak. Others advanced from the seaside, and northwards the cavalry pursued the disorganised enemy. The Irish captured Horlra, formerly the. centre of the Turkish Gaza-Beersheba line, witfi comparatively Blight resistance. The
capture of Gaza was due to the grand success of the previous day’s battle on the right, where enormops booty was taken. The capture of Gaza with tre- ' mendoußly strong works, has been accomplished by first smashing the eastern line of defences threatening the Gaza’ flank. Our losses were comparatively slight.
