Marshal Haig reports: At dawn this morning we attacked positions northward and north-westward of Passchen-‘ daele making good progress. The weather is wet and stormy. Unfavourable weather prevented night bombing. Twenty machines were downed and ten of ours are missing. German official.—There is considerable artillerying in the Yser-Poelop-pelle-Passchendaelo sector. French advances at Sundgan were thrown back .

A French communique says: After a violent bombardment, the Germans attarikod Chaume Wod .also i n the region of Arracourt in Lorraine. They were repulsed with serious losses. A detachment raided the German trenches north-west of Bisel in the region of Seppois, in Upper Alsace.
