DESERTER SENTENCED. AUCKLAND, Nov. 9tli. Gilbert Walker, who was found guilty on October 31st, on a charge of desertion, has been sentenced by court- martial to sixty days’ detention. Walker wa s arrested at his parents’ farm near Te Awamutu on October Bth, after hiding in the bush for some months.
